Welcome to the Fidelitas Wine Club!

Fidelitas is a family owned winery found on Red Mountain in Washington Wine Country. Our winemaker, Charlie Hoppes, produces hand crafted, Bordeaux-style wines made from some of the best fruit grown in Washington State. The Fidelitas Wine Club is really more than just a club. It’s more like a full service concierge program, where our members have access to top benefits, events and of course, outstanding wine. This blog is a place where our members can come together to see what is new at the winery, connect with one another, and get a sneak peek at upcoming releases and events.

Red Wine and Chocolate

What a fun few days at the winery! I really enjoyed myself during the Red Wine and Chocolate event this past weekend. The crowds were a bit calmer than some of the other big event weekends, so I was able to spend some time chatting with members. It was great to meet some existing members for the first time (Dale, Roger, Dolly and Rick and Barb - thanks for the nice note!) and to see some familiar faces again (Patty and AC - please bring Grandpa next time!). I also was able to chat with several new members, who are all formulating how they are going to take advantage of their member benefits. It was great to put faces to names, and the hear some feedback. Les, I'll change the photo soon, I promise.
We were pouring our two shipment wines - the 2006 Columbia Valley and Walla Walla Cabs - along with several wines available to members only like the Red Mountain Cab and the newly released 2006 Boushey (which was great!).
If you weren't able to stop by this past weekend but still want to chat with other members, please come on the 4th of March for extended hours. Or if you did come and had so much fun, come again! We'll be pouring a bunch of great wines, will have a few snacks and I'll be looking forward to spending more time with members.

Boushey!

I hate to pick favorites. If someone were to ask me which Fidelitas wine was my favorite, I honestly wouldn't be able to answer. For quite awhile, it was the Optu white, then the eight red wine, and also was loving the Columbia Valley Cabernet as it really started to open up.
However, I will say that I have really been missing the Boushey red since we ran out of it last fall. In October, the 2005 vintage received 90 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate and 91 Points from Wine Spectator, and then, it was gone. Since then, I've been patiently waiting for Charlie to decide that the 2006 vintage is ready.
Finally, the 2006 Boushey is on it's way! We'll be pouring it for the first time this weekend at the tasting room during Red Wine and Chocolate. After that, it is ready to be ordered.
I know that I've learned from my past mistake and will be getting enough to last me through next winter...
